Corrib Gun Dogs, Ireland

Seven new arrivals at Corrib Gun Dogs! Our Irish Setter bitch "Corrib Bess" gave birth to a beautiful litter of puppies today. This was a repeat mating of a successful litter in 2015 which was sired by Ray O'Dwyers Irish Setter dog "Sheantullagh Griffin". See the pedigree of this litter in our Irish Setter Pups section. These pups will be ready for their new homes around the end of February 2017.

FTCh Lurriga Cedar of Corrib aka Carra comes third today at Clodagh Valley Field Trials Association's Open Stake at Curraghmore, Co Waterford. Very happy with Carra's run, however her first retrieve was not so good with her thinking she knew more than me! But her work after that was very clean. Looking forward to the Championship at the end of the month.

Corrib English Springer Spaniels

Paul loves shooting over his spaniels in the beautiful county of Clare “A Shooters Paradise”. Woodcock would be the main quarry and uses his spaniels to get in and hunt the covers for this amazing game bird. When hunting Woodcock a spaniel needs to be able to take on cover and hunt it happily looking for the game and when the game is produced for the shot the spaniel needs to be able retrieve this delicate bird to hand as gently as possible so the bird is not damaged. We like to use a balance of good sound rough shooting stock to proven trialling stock (both of which are from similar lines of spaniels). This way we insure our spaniels are sound in every way for the shooting field, be it a day’s rough shooting or a day’s trialling. Style, stamina and game finding ability are what we aim to produce in our Corrib Gundog line of English Springer Spaniel.
