FTCH Corrib Mafi

Mafi is one of Our Field Trial Champion dogs that was standing at Stud however turning twelve in April 2020 means he is no longer allowed to be registered with the Irish Kennel Club as a stud dog. Even though Mafi is very fit and able however it is not allowed. Mafi was born in 2008 and has clear eyes and 0/0 hips. He is a strong animal with a sound temperament. When Mafi was ran in Field Trials to earn his title he would never let Paul down, he is an honest dog that is 100% with the handler and has an excellent nose to find the dead or wounded game. He is retired now from work and is loving his retirement in our home where he is treated like a King and rightly so. When he was worked, Mafi was fearless in cover and was very keen when it came to water work. He was used at driven shoots to help pick up and also used for rough shooting. He has sired many litters and he carries the yellow gene. His pups come big and strong with serious ability for the field. Some of the pups are used for hunting woodcock, fearless in cover with excellent game finding abilities. Other litters are coming on nicely at the moment with some pups in trialling folk hands like his daughter who is with us at our kennels, FTCH “Lurriga Cedar of Corrib” aka “Carra”, one of our champion brood bitches. We are delighted that all our Labrador Retrievers at Corrib Gun Dogs have FTCH Corrib Mafi in their pedigrees.
